Hackers Hijack Chrome Extension: Turn It Into Fraudulent Adware Distributor

The Forbes article was written a couple of days ago, and the numbers have gone up since then. Estimates now are that this extension attack has reached 1 mil+ users.

Here’s a quick reminder that browser extensions can be really cool, but they’re not always really secure.

This is a good time for all of us to look at any extensions we may have installed, and ask if we trust the source, still need them, etc.
