Facebook Pro Tip: How To Respond To A Page Hack

Facebook’s documentation might be kinda hard to find sometimes, but it’s usually very useful.

As an example: Did you know that Facebook has an entire section dedicated to Hacked Accounts?

If / when you suspect that you’ve been hacked, or one of your Facebook friends has been hacked, it’s a valuable resource. Bookmark it, use it, and hopefully it will help you quickly resolve or report issues.

One thing that doesn’t work: Don’t just tell your Facebook friends that you’ve been hacked. Just sending a message to everyone saying you’ve been hacked is the equivalent of Michael Scott declaring bankruptcy.

Follow the steps on the site, and if needed, contact me or another security professional for more information or guidance.

Stay safe on the world’s largest social site!
