The ‘King Complex’ – Why We Just Can’t Quit The Internet
No matter how cool the Internet is (it’s cool), and no matter how much it has done to positively impact our society, open borders, and allow billions of people to collaborate in unprecedented ways (it has) – Internet addiction is no joke.
For some of us the Internet is not just a large communication and commerce engine, it’s a jail. If you, or someone you know, is having trouble regulating Internet usage, this great article from The Art of Manliness highlights one possible reason why.
For the record: I’m an Art of Manliness fanboy. It’s one of the very few sites I check regularly. It’s one of the best men’s sites on the net. And because it’s so good for men, it’s good for women and families as well. Anything that can help make good men better is good for all.
One of these days, I hope to meet Brett McKay face-to-face and thank him for his service.
Back to the subject, and this is important: Not everyone’s Internet compulsion is the same. The King Complex is one possible reason for increased usage. But it’s not the only one.
